► Brief Description

The Insertion Tube Boot for GIF-H180 is a critical, highly durable mechanical protective component situated at the junction where the insertion tube connects to the control body (grip) of the gastroscope. Often referred to as a “stress boot” or “insertion tube protector,” its primary engineering purpose is to manage structural strain, prevent harsh bending at acute angles, and maintain the hermetic seal of the internal components during endoscopic procedures and reprocessing.

► Features

• Strain Relief & Kink Prevention: It acts as a structural buffer, absorbing mechanical stress when the gastroscope is manipulated during a procedure. By graduating the bending radius, it prevents the insertion tube from kinking or snapping at the high-stress junction near the control handle.
• Internal Component Protection:Inside the insertion tube run highly sensitive and expensive materials, including fiber-optic light guides, the HDTV CCD video cable bundle, air/water channels, and angulation pull-wires. The boot ensures these components are not crushed or over-tensioned during flexure.
• Fluid Leak Isolation:Working in tandem with an internal O-ring, the boot contributes to the endoscope’s overall sealing integrity. It helps block patient fluids, water, and enzymatic cleaning solutions from invading the control body, reducing the risk of a “fluid invasion”—one of the most common and costly causes of endoscope failure.
• Ergonomic Hand-to-Tube Transition: It provides a smooth, tapered aesthetic and physical transition between the rigid control grip and the flexible insertion tube, optimizing tactile handling for the endoscopist.
