The Light Guide Bundle for the Olympus EVIS EXERA II TJF-Q180V Duodenoscope is a core internal component responsible for light transmission. Composed of thousands of high-purity optical glass fibers, this bundle channels high-intensity light from the external medical light source (such as the Olympus CLV-180) through the endoscope’s universal cord and insertion tube, projecting it out via the light guide lenses at the distal end.

Because the TJF-Q180V is widely used for complex Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) procedures, a premium, structurally sound light guide bundle is critical to maintaining optimal visualization and supporting advanced imaging technologies like Narrow Band Imaging (NBI).

• High-Efficiency Light Transmission: It acts as the primary conduit for light, transferring illumination from the light source connector to the target anatomical site (the duodenum and major duodenal papilla) with minimal optical loss or heat generation.
• Dual-Path Distal Illumination: Because the TJF-Q180V features a side-viewing optical system with dual light guide lenses flanking the objective lens, the bundle bifurcates near the distal tip. This ensures uniform, shadow-reduced illumination across the entire 100°field of view.
• Full Support for Narrow Band Imaging (NBI): It maintains the strict spectral integrity required for NBI. By transmitting specific wavelengths of blue and green light accurately, it allows endoscopists to clearly distinguish mucosal capillaries and tissue structures during ERCP.
• Structural Flexibility and Durability: The bundle is specifically engineered to bend smoothly within the endoscope’s 4-way angulation section (120°Up, 90°Down, 110° Right,90°Left) without snapping individual fiber strands, ensuring a long operational lifespan despite rigorous reprocessing and mechanical maneuvering.
